Manage the Way You Feel while You Wait

Manage the Way You Feel while You Wait

Please note that this article was adapted from the following video.

We all have desires, we all want our lives to unfold in certain ways and get certain results.

We do work towards getting these results but things don’t always happen when we want them to happen and most of the time things take way longer to happen than we thought.

So what happens in the meantime?

We wait!

Here is where I want you to develop your awareness around how you manage yourself during this wait time. More specifically how you manage the way you feel.

Managing how you feel potentially impacts how and when whatever you are waiting for will occur and spares from wasting time you could have enjoyed.

Let me give you an example: You desire an intimate and fulfilling relationship with someone.

Deep inside you have set your intention and you start going out, you start meeting people. You don’t know when you are going to meet this person. You don’t know if you are ever going to meet this person. You don’t know what the future is made of. Not knowing is uncomfortable, not knowing is sometimes scary. If you don’t do anything about it, the more you wait the more the unknown gets uncomfortable and the more your fears invade you.

It he example above, your waiting is making you anxious. Your waiting is making you impatient, needier, less comfortable in your skin. You become less attractive to others! Because you are not feeling that great, you go out less often and meet less people. You become less likely to attract this ideal relationship you desire and it increases your wait time.

How you feel inside often reflects the way your life will unfold.

So, your duty during this wait time is to focus on your life. Is to focus on feeling good.

Do whatever it takes to feel good:

  1. Be present. Do more of what you like. Go out with your friends, develop your hobbies, exercise!
  2. Get yourself a life independently of whether you have what you are waiting for!
  3. Feel good independently of whether you have what you are waiting for. Feeling good will give you an ability to bare the unknown. It will give you an ability to wait even longer for life to positively surprise you!
